System installation and configuration are included in the basic Fideocam service package. There is thus no need for a client to use the Configure interface themselves. Nevertheless there are tools that the client can use to monitor service once the website is up and running. Deliver Admin tool allows the administrator various different actions that help analyze profitability and guides making business decisions.
Client is given a password that allows them to manage the website. Fideocam is aimed at sports centers so the most likely user of the administrative web interface would be the manager of the venue. The following manual actions are available:
- view statistics of clip access
- view statistics of number of purchases
- browse all captured clips by weekday
- delete inappropriate clips (based on requests or self-policing)
- publish clips to draw traffic
Based on the above figures decision support system makes it easier to decide on marketing and other business decisions:
- timing promotions
- planning rejuvenation
All the data can be exported as .csv files to integrate with clients CRM system.
Current implementation of Admin tool does not let the client to configure the system in any way. That may chance as technology progresses. IP cameras are becoming more commonplace and it is likely that the website admin interface can implement many of the features that have been currently built into the stand-alone Configure application. Suitable implementation techniques could be Flex or Ajax, but no decision has been made yet. The most important consideration is the availability of a good graphing library.
