Motion-detecting DSLR

Different gadgets for controlling digital SLR cameras have been available for some time. The common features include a timer or an infra-red remote control for triggering shots. More advanced models allow stop-motion photography ie. shooting stills over extended periods of time to create time-lapse animations. Product called Zigview S2 brings a new twist to the game. The device has the ability to motion detect action to trigger shots.

Sounds like a great idea, even thought the gadget is quite pricy. Also it wouldn’t be surprising if the functionality found its way to to cameras themselves quite soon. The latest DSLR models already have a chip for something manufacturers call ‘subject motion-detection’. Eventhough the chip is used to counter motion blurring it is likely an enabling step to the direction of motion detecting.
