Fideocam Deliver Admin

System installation and configuration are included in the basic Fideocam service package. There is thus no need for a client to use the Configure interface themselves. Nevertheless there are tools that the client can use to monitor service once the website is up and running. Deliver Admin tool allows the administrator various different actions that help analyze profitability and guides making business decisions. Continue reading ‘Fideocam Deliver Admin’

Fideocam Deliver

Videos captured with a Fideocam system can be distributed to multiple different kinds of devices. Fideocam Deliver is a versatile distribution solution that makes it possible to browse video clips using a computer, a mobile phone or even a set top box. Using several different methods allows the service operator reach the audience anywhere they go. The most common solution is integrating Fideocam Deliver as a module inside the service provider’s own web site.

Fideocam Configure

Fideocam Configure is a software application for setting up an automated video capture system. Essentially it is a visual programming tool for creating the configuration files necessary for system operation. Intuitive node-based graphical user interface makes it easy to model the shoot. Once the initial structure is done it is easy to test the system and make more adjustments to fine tune the workflow.  Continue reading ‘Fideocam Configure’

Fideocam Core

The most critical component of a Fideocam system is the Core. This basic building block is responsible for the actual capturing of video and audio. The system is quite flexible. Single installation can have multiple Core units. The Core component can be substituted by a new solution as long as it adheres to basic functional requirements. Each type of Core component has motion detection triggered capture with pre- and postbuffering and APIs to control these functions’ parameters. Continue reading ‘Fideocam Core’

Fideocam system architecture

It has been a year since the first posts were written to this blog. In the beginning the basic elements of the digital video production workflow were introduced. Even though a pretty thorough picture of video automation has been painted the topics haven’t really yet touched on Fideocam system itself. In the following posts the three main components of the system will be described.

  1. Core
  2. Configure
  3. Deliver

The system architecture is very flexible. Technology choice for each component is independent from the others.  For example currently Core is a Windows software, but it could be changed to hardware solution quite easily. In the long run it is likely that most of the intelligence will drift to the opposite ends of the network. Intelligent camera will have quite a large role, but most of the orchestrating logic will wind up in the server.
